I do timed feedings for everybody in different rooms. Penny eats in her crate, cat #1 eats in the laundry room, and cat #2 eats in the front bedroom.

I really feel that timed, separate feedings are the best way to go when you have multiple pets. That way you know exactly how much everybody is eating, you know exactly what formula they are eating, and there's no risk of stress or bullying at the food dish.

If that's not an option, you could always put the cat food up on top of the fridge or somewhere that the dog will be unable to access. That won't keep the cat from getting to the dog food though, and that can be a problem as well!
