With all due respect then, why not just go and buy puppies from pet stores? Why not just throw up our hands and say the problem is unsolvable?

If you are truly paying $1 for a dog, then I apologize for blowing up here. But if you are paying any significant percentage of the dog's cost, then the miller is making money. Maybe your money is not going into the miller's revenue, but you are decreasing the operating costs. I have to think this is economical for the millers, because otherwise they wouldn't bring these dogs to auctions. Why bother with the trouble and expense if you are really only saving $1 per dog?
