Dromies has had hers rupture twice. They become impacted and they give you antibiotics, that actually induce the rupture, so that way they can clean themselves out, and then heal from the inside out. What does help is soaking their little bottoms with a wet-hot-rag, about 3-5 times a day. This helps loosen the impaction and allows the anal gland to express. You will see yucky stuff on the rag and that is what you want. I have learned that when I bath her, before I express the gland, I let her bottom soak in the little tub, and that seems to help out.
