My dad did that to my mom. My dad was in the military and was overseas about every month... well this one time he was gone for a month, came home that night and gave us the stuff he bought us from Russia and everything was completely normal. The next afternoon he told my mom he wanted a divorce and there was absolutely NOTHING wrong in their marriage. We still don't know why he left and that was almost 10 years ago.
