I have 4 cats and they are age 4-6 years. I have had them since they were babies. We got our Yorkie baby in May 08. She just turned 1 year old. She has been around the kitties since we got her. We were trying to slowly give her more and more freedom when we are home. She seems to want to run the house. She chases the kitties. 2 of them have swiped at her and she mostly leaves those 2 alone. The 3rd kitty just runs away and goes up high somewhere. Now my maine coon who is 5 years old- she rolls over and takes whatever my yorkie wants to dish out. I don't get it- why won't she run away? I had to save her from my little 5 lb yorkie. All the kitties outweigh her. Now I have started keeping her on a leash inside the house so I can control her around the kitties. All the kitties act afraid of her. I think that's part of the problem. I also started giving Sophie a time out in the kitchen if she is mean to any of the kitties. My hubby says this is like having kids. Any advice is most appreciated. Thanks!
