If they are kittens they could possibly grow to be bigger than your yorkie. My cat is much larger than my yorkie. She won't go anywhere near my cat. A couple of good swipes from my cat cure any curiosity my yorkie had. The yorkie does tend to get a little jealous if my cat wants my attention but I nip that in the bud. She would growl anytime the cat came anywhere near me. For the most part they pretty much keep their distance from each other.
The only advice I can offer is that if you see your yorkie attacking the cats is to put a stop to it.....which sounds like what you are doing already. Then again, when the kittens become bigger, they may put a stop to it themselves. You have to be careful that they don't scratch out your yorkies eyes though. My cat has a place to escape to where Brandi can't get to her. She jumps on something high and Brandi can't reach her.
Try getting one of those thingys for you kittens where only they can climb up on and the yorkie can't reach them. This will give your kittens a great place to escape to when the yorkie starts chasing them. |
