The standard editor and the enhanced editor look exactly the same and have the same features. The difference between these two editors is how the post you are making is displayed to you. Most of the newer members should have the enhanced editor which I think is easier to use for the not so computer savvy. If you wanted to change your message editor though you can do this by going to your User CP, edit options and down at the botton there is a drop down menu under the "Message Editor Interface" section.

I just want to add that if you do change the editing mode to "enhanced interface", the profile pages will show up differently than before. The message box will get its instructions through the "Primary Content Area" instead of the "Controls" area. The profile page won't really change; you will just see it differently than before, and this will affect how you see everyone's profile page, not just your own.
