It happened on a sat and I took her to an emergency clinic. The emergency vet didnt know what was wrong. They gave me pain meds and steriods and sent me home for the weekend. The ortho wasnt in til tues. Because I had no idea what was wrong I didnt let her walk at all. I carried her in a baby sling everywhere and when out of the sling she was in a pack n play because she would have never tolerated crating. So we went back on tues and he knew immediatly what it was. She had the surgery about 7 days later. Her tear was almost all the way through so he didnt want her to walk at all in the meantime, only to go potty.
If you have an xpen you could use that. I bought the pack n play at a baby resale shop for only $7. I think the new ones are like $40-120. If it is torn she will need major restiction after surgery to. I think it was 2 weeks then after the 2 weeks they wanted her to walk alot daily to keep it loose.
