Why wouldn't you rather find a reputable breeder who has done testing for genetic defects? Usually, you end up paying LESS money to a reputable breeder then you would a pet store who has jacket up the price. Even if the puppy in the petstore does cost less...it's for a reason. Why do reputable breeders breed dogs if it isn't for the money? Because they TRULY care about dogs and bettering the breed. It is their hobby and thir passion. Isn't that where you'd like your future pet to come from? A loving and caring home? I'm telling you, my little pug dog has had anxiety issues and is extremely timid because she came from a puppymill. This is something that she's NEVER outgrown. Yes, these dogs deserve to be loved too, but as the poster above said...you are just contributing to the never ending cycle of these puppymills by giving them the opportunity to produce more dogs. When their source of income is gone is when they'll finally be forced to quit mass producing these puppies. |
