Cesar Milan had a show on the leash thing. He suggested putting the leash in a place where the pup can see it. Leave it there for a few days. Then move it closer to the pups space. Do that until they walk by it or over it. Then start leaving treats on top of it. Then take the leash and your pup and drape it over their back. give pup a treat. take the clip and a treat put them both in your hand. attach the leash and praise your pup. give treats so they associate the leash with good things.
