It's so easy for people to pretend it doesn't happen or look the other way because it's too difficult to deal with. I hate that! I think that regardless of personal issues with any animal organization at least they have the guts to stand up and fight for the animals and show the true nature of what is happening to them.
Also this might be of interest, here is a link to the PETA caring consumer list that has companies that do not test on animals You can also sign up for a pocket sized list to take shopping with you~ Caring Consumer // Search for Cruelty-Free Companies and Products |
I agree with much of what you said, but I just have to say, I think it oversimplifies it to suggest that people buy only buy products from companies who don't do animal testing. We should strive for humane testing and try to eliminate unnecessary testing, but many of the companies, just use formulas that other companies have already tested. Government regulations demand that products be tested for safety when new ingredients or combinations are used. When company "A" spends money on testing to pass government regulations and proves that a certain ingredient is safe to use in a certain manner, it doesn't seem right that Company B can just use those ingredients and claim, they don't do animal testing.
If there are companies out there doing UNNECCESSARY testing, I would like to be aware of them, and I will boycott them as well.
