IMO, I think labs can be too hyper and rough. My BFF had a lab mix stray for a while, but had to rehome it when it kept knocking their 4 year old down to the floor all the time. Yes, it was playing, but it still hurt their daughter. They attempted to train it an hoped it would calm down but it didn't. I'm not saying all labs are like that, but that's my experience. I would worry about it getting to exited and playful and accidentally hurting your little sweetie.
