I would not feed a very small Yorkie of any age only twice a day and I wouldn't consider switching the schedule til probably after 8-10 months. Just personal preference...

Unless your pup gets a bedtime snack or he eats his kibble up until bedtime, I think there is too much time between the night and morning feedings.
I just want him to be on a good schedule. He isn't small. He is already six pounds, so I'm assuming he's only going to get bigger! LOL. But he normally does eat up until he goes to bed, or an hour or so before he goes to bed. He likes to eat small amounts throughout the day.
