My dog broke the nail far back-past the quick sp? Its not bleeding, but more like cracked and bent.

I'm going to bandage the foot to protect the nail for now, but if it breaks off and starts bleeding-is there a home remedy for quickstop or that stuff that stops bleeding? I thought it was corn starch, but dont remember for sure.
