Scarey thing is...these types of ads aren't only happening with pets. I was selling my van in our local "buy n sell" and had someone offer to buy it from out of country and send their shipper to pick it up. When the money order arrived it was for wayyyy too much money. They then ask you to just cash the money order and send the extra back to them. The catch is, it's a fradulent international money order, so it takes a long time to clear at your bank (I think it was 1-2 months). By the time you find out from the bank that the money order is fake, you're already out the cash that you sent to the scammer, and whatever you've spent possibly buying a new vehicle.
