Omg I almost fell for that one too

the scam is not up front, that's the trick! It's after you're in love. They will say that you need to send them some money for the crate (after they are sure you're a good mark), ticket or whatever. The puppy got sick and needs vet care, but they don't have the cash right now. Or, the owner (a missionary) was transferred to Africa and can't care for the puppy and you need to send some money for transportation, etc.
The one that I responded to had dozens of these ads in Kijili and I can't remember which other places. The real owner of the stolen pictures caught on and quickly warned people about it. Good thing, because I almost fell for it. They can tell you some sad story that will make you open your wallet and since I thought that someone would beat me to the pup, I should act quickly. I did some research and found out that this scam has been going on for a good 10 years. Be suspicious. Google "Yorkie adoption scams', you're sure to find people talking about how they got scammed.
