Hi,

We got Tiki when she was 10 weeks old. We had small toothbryushes that the grandkids had used so we just let her have it to chew on for several weeks. Then we would just put it in her mouth and let her chew on it while we held her and it. We actually started brushing her teeth when she was about 4 months old. We didn't care if it was baby teeth or adult teeth because it was treating the gums too. She is 3 1/2 now and has had no decay or anything. The doctor said that at her next checkup in March they will check really well and maybe decide to do some cleaning. She had a bit of plaque on her outside upper teeth so we had to up the ante there so to speak and that gets more attention. Plus, we bought some spray at Petco that the groomers use when they brush the dogs teeth. We don't like to spray around her eyes in case she moves so my husband just puts some on his finger and rubs it over those teeth. He does it on both sides inside and out. Hopefully all of this will prevent those peridontal problems nd she will keep having good strong teeth.
Oh, we bought those little rope twisted chew toys too. Some of them actually have dental floss on the, She LOVES those toys and will chew and chew and does it in front and on both sides. This has to help too!
