You know, I have had Bonnie about 5 weeks. When she first got here, I was completely ignoring her when I had to leave, or when I got up in the middle of the night. I was afraid she would start barking, crying or develop some separation activity. I tried not to make eye contact. LOL
But one night when I got up, I gave her a little head rub and a low "get back on your pillow" (she was contained in her area) and went back to bed. I didn't hear a peep from her. So now I will pet or speak to her in a very low keyed way/voice.
