Pebbles is a reformed poop eater but that was not the reason that I switched food for her. She has allergy issues and was scratching from the fillers in her old food so I switched to the LI food from NB. It does not have the fillers like Eukenuba and other grocery store foods. Do you have a Petco near you? That is were I purchase my NB, I do not believe that Petsmart sells NB brand.

Now that you mention Cesar I do recall that episode and remembered thinks I had never heard that before. Not that I don't believe Cesar but I have read a lot about poop eating not because I still have a problem but more because it seems to be constantly brought up on YT and never came across anything about bananas.

Deter and Forbid are pretty much marketing schemes that are sold by vets and pet stores to make money. I just looked up the ingredients in Deter and guess what the main ingredient is Natural Fermented Vegetable Extract, Thiamine Hydrochloride, Capsicum Oleoresin. It also says that it needs to be given for 2 to 3 weeks to see results. I was shocked at the price too~$35 A large can of pumpkin is $2.00 and pineapple is $1.25 and a jar of MSG/meat tenderizer is $3.00.
Thanks so much for all your help - I really do appreciate you taking the time to give me all this useful information. We went to the vet yesterday and he thinks none of this stuff works and that dogs eat their poop out of a survival mechanism. He said that all dogs at one point were wild and to protect themselves and their pups from other predators they would "hide the evidence" so to speak and eat the feces to conceal their location. He said that dealing with it on a "dog psychology" level as Cesar does will bring more success than buying and trying different foods. He also said if the dog is assuming a pack leader role or feels insecure of his role in the pack he will do it to protect himself or his pack. It kinda makes sense and I'm going to try on work on my "pack leader" skills. He also said, most puppies just grow out of it. That said, I'm going to look into the food thing too.
