Since they live that far away and you would be going for a weekend , maybe you can bring an X pen ( large high walls) and alternate...Leo can be playing in the pen while the cat is out ( and you can see if the cat goes after him) and then Leo can be free and the cats put away for a while. That seems like a fair solution to me...If they don't like it then maybe they can make the drive to see you instead ( minus the cat
).
I'm sorry ...it is a hard situation ...but they should know how you feel , but then again since they won't put the cat away for Eric's allergies , I'm not sure they will for Leo.
