that's really too long to leave a dog home alone without going out...can you come home sometime..maybe around lunch to let him out? I'm in school most of the day too but always go home at lunch to let mine out so that they never go more than maybe 5 hours without going out. Most are not going to be able to hold it that long, even if they are well-trained..and even if they could, like I said..it's not healthy. If you have to be gone that long without coming home, you'll have to train to pads (or there are dog litterboxes and fake grass). Can you close him in a smaller non-carpeted area like maybe the kitchen, a large bathroom, or one bedroom which you are gone? Maybe if he doesn't have the entire house, he'll be more likely to go where he's supposed to
