I'm not sure two times a day would be enough for a small dog with a small bladder. My bigger dog Sydney goes out three times a day and she is around 10 lbs and three years old.
She goes out at around 7 a.m. then again at around 3/4 p.m. and once before bed around 10 p.m. I feel better taking her out before bed so she doesn't have to hold it so long at night,she does fine with that...but there is no way Chloe could only go twice a day.
As for the carpets I used Oxyclean and a small steamer to clean it up , then Natures miracle to remove any odor. It worked OK I guess , but I just removed the carpet and put down Pergo to save myself the headache !

)they advertise on TV would be good too? Use it to soak up the urine , then a steam clean followed by natures miracle , maybe?
