Since I have three pets, one of whom is on a restricted diet due to allergies, I do timed feedings. All three animals are fed twice a day in separate rooms. Penny gets 1/3 cup in the morning and 1/4 cup in the evening. She has a voracious appetite-- if I tried free feeding, I bet she'd end up really overweight.
