Cry Rocky

What worries me about Pits are the cases that I have heard of them attacking people for NO REASON. For example, my aunt Phyllis use to own a Pit Bull named Rocky. She got Rocky when she was 10 weeks old from a breeder -- yes, Rocky was a girl dog LOL I know the name Rocky is a boy's name but tell that to my aunt Phyllis who thinks it's a girls name LOL -- Anyway, Rocky was raised with lots of love and attention. My aunt even hired a trainer when Rocky was a pup. She really loved this dog to pieces. When Rocky was around 2 years old, my aunt was working out back in her garden. She was on her hands and knees when Rocky charged her from behind and attacked and bite her HARD. She had to have several stitches in her thigh and knee. She loved Rocky too much to give her up (even though the entire family pleaded with her to) and she kept her. A few months later, Rocky struck again. This time my aunt Phyllis was getting undressed at the end of the day when Rocky attacked her and made her both arms bleed. After that she knew she had to give Rocky up -- even though it broke her heart.

So this is what worries me. Why would a dog who was raised with LOVE and kisses, treated as my aunt's own child from 10 weeks old attack my aunt? It just doesn't make sense to me. She was not an abused puppy because my aunt Phyllis is STILL friends with Rocky's breeder after all these 8 years ago when she first got Rocky. So what made Rocky snap?

I do not say ALL Pits are going to do what Rocky did ... but there are so many who, like Rocky, came from loving homes and were NEVER abused. So why did they turn on their owners and attack them? Why bite the hand who feeds you?
