I think you are confusing "table scrapes" with home cooked. Years ago, this is how we fed our dogs, however, years ago; we were eating healthier too. Now, table scrapes can mean an acute attack of pancreatitis after just one fatty meal. So if you are going to home cook, do lots of research, and plan on using supplementation (a vitamin and mineral supplement). Many people who home cook recommend seeing a canine nutritionist to find the right balance of protein, carbs, and fat for your dog. Remember a balanced human diet is not a balanced canine diet.
