My dog has had it but it was pretty mild.
The vet can't give you an answer because there is no way to be sure that everything will be okay. The right treatment protocol is very important. If he is still vomiting, he shouldn't be getting anything by mouth. He should be in the hospital on IVs. Did your vet say something about this? If he is getting over it, it may be safe to give food by mouth but the pancreas has to be rested in most cases (no food or water by mouth for at least 24 hours).
I'm a bit confused why the vet prescribed Previcox when the company says very clearly that it shouldn't be used in a dog his size.
What food did the vet put him on after this was diagnosed?
