Is this ok? Puddin' is here and she is even more precious than we had imagined! My husband is captivated and I'm just wrapped around her tiny little paws. Will post some pics later.
Here's the question: we have a crate and a basket prepared for her. She is very compliant about being in the basket or crate, but she doesn't seem to want to really sleep in them...just doze and wake up fitfully.
Right now, she she totally conked out, sleeping like the dead...inside my Tshirt, snuggled up against my tummy (she started out on my boobs but slid down as she relaxed). I've nurtured sick and runt puppies this way, but not "normal" ones.
Has anybody else experienced this? How long is too long to allow this to continue? When we take in rescues, we usually let them sleep in our bed for the first couple of nights as a kind of bonding exercise and to help the dog feel secure, but after a few days they have to sleep in the doggie bed...should we apply the same principle to Puddin'? Obviously she will eventually get too big to sleep inside my shirt, so how long is too long? |
