Dont' be surprised if he doesnt' like the pumpkin- Layla hated it the first time i had to give it to her- i'd see how much you can get in him- you can't O.D. on it. Layla gets it as part of her daily meals so even after you are done with it for this purpose- you will have LOTS left over (they come in HUGE cans- baking section where the pie filler is) you can either freeze it for next time or give it to him with his food- will keep his poop nice and firm.
If he wont' take it- try mixing it with the yogurt.
