chances are the slow one you heard was moms, and the fast was the girls, but the boys are even faster... it is also hard to know if you are hearing the same heartbeat even though you are in a different spot, unless you have more experience or training.... I had a lot of training with listening to hearts/lungs/digestive way before puppies.
the lady who bred my dog didn't believe me when I said I know we are having two boys and a girl for sure because of the heartbeat... I did not know though if we were having more because this was my first experience with dogs.
have fun and good luck, it is neat to hear all the different sounds.... learning what normal sounds like on mom is also good, that way if she gets sick you will be able to tell if she has a problem in her lungs ect... hyper active bowels ect.
