 Update
I have been bathing Ivan with medicated shampoo and Pert every other day following up with cortisone on the raw spots. Just when I think he is getting better I find new patches farther down on his body. They haven't reached his belly yet and I think I may have stopped the progression.
The good news is that shampooing him so frequently has relieved the itching considerably. We also started giving him a suppplement designed for healthy skin and coat.
With any luck at all we are over the hump till the weather warms up.
