Don't give up on the bell! Even with all our little problems with it, I still think it's absolutely wonderful. And honestly looking back on it, I feel like I'm pretty sure all the problems were our fault. We would ring the bell, get him to pee, then go directly on out for a walk. Or not ring the bell, but go out the same door to see the neighbor's dog and play. These little dogs are smart, too smart. I only wish
I would have been smart enough to use the other door from day one, but lesson learned and we're back in potty training boot camp again. I can only blame myself

, ya know? Still, I really believe it you are super insanely dilligent, attentive, and consistent, it doesn't really take these guys too long to learn anything, including where the best place to potty is to get that yummy treat
