When we first took Laddy in for his initial check up our vet who has yorkie's of his own told us that they tend to have weeker knees so not to let them jump from furniture and especially high beds which ours is. So for this reason we have never allowed Laddy to sleep with us. Have any of you had issues with your furbabies hurting themselves jumping from your beds? |
My bed is very high so I am extra cautious. She is not allowed to wander the bed. I have pushed the bed up against the wall and filled the crack with rolled up blankets so she can't get stuck. Then I lay beside her, and I've stacked 2 pillows below her so that she doesn't sneak down to the bottom of the bed. I sleep facing her with one of my legs propped up on the pillow below her. I am a very light sleeper, so I'm pretty sure I am aware of every move she makes. She usually just snuggles right up to my neck and stays put all night. When she's big enough to do stairs, we will buy a set for beside the bed.
