I agree, Tigger was ten weeks old when we got him and did the same thing. only he's pee'd on our egyptian cotton comforter three or four times, doesn't it just make your day? (sense the sarcasem?!) lol No but seriously, patience, and time and cosistancy will pay off big time. Tigger is now four months old and knows to sit by the door if he needs to go out.

How we trained him is ( he's slept with my boyfriend and I since day one.) : we got an industrial strength paper clip and would put his bed between our pillows and get his leash and paper cliped it to the top of our headboard with enough slack that he would only be able to get to the end of his bed but no further. Every time he would move or make a sound we would take him outside and say outside potty and praise him lots while and after he did his duty. Now during the day since my boyfriend and I both work full time jobs, we put down potty pads and he'll usually go on them. but he's funny about it. he uses on pad for pee and somewhere else (usually not on a pad) to go poop. Before we let him have free run of the house, we would gate him up in the kitchen with baby gates at both entrances. But since he started getting smart and getting out we let him just run around. He now sits at the door and will let us know he needs to go out. even if he's just sitting there we've tried to make it a habit of letting him out just to see. I also set the potty pads next to the door so that he associates potty with door. I hope this helps just a little if not more. Good luck. Patience will pay off.

also when your dog does go inside, immediatly take your dog outside and use a catch phrase like "outside potty" do this everytime and they'll eventually get what you want them to do as long as you always use the same catch phrase every time you want them to do their duty outside.
