A treadmill would be a good idea. The more you can get yourself moving the better. Sorta like with arthritis, if you can keep yourself active, it slows the progress and you feel better. WTG on the 90 lbs! Thyroid issues are such a pain. I have hoshimotos as a result of all my stupid autoimmune issues and take a non-synthetic (armour thyroid) replacement for it that helped me a lot more than synthroid did.
Don't give up on pushing yourself! When you give up, it just gets worse with these things. Once you get moving more, you will see a big improvement.

Is it possible at all to relocate to a warmer place?
