I have never heard this nor would I ever use it.
However I do have a great use for fabric softner that, if
you cook, you will love.

Here goes:
Whenever you bake something, roast, baked zitti etc. and it sticks
to the pan just fill the pan with hot water and put in one softner
sheet. Wait about 20-30 mins and wallah! Every bit of food that was
stuck to the pan is now off and pan is ready for a wash. No scrubbing
ever again.
It works everytime.
