From the conversation i have had with her, she really really loves her dogs. And she doesnt want the pups to go to just anybody.

I personally think that as long as the dogs are healthy and happy. And being tken care of properly, its okay to breed if you are up to the challenges. She is retired and is at home all the time.
it seems like you kind of have your heart set on this breeder.
i think a lot of red flags are present.
i think that's quit a few litters all at once if the breeder was truly trying to provide the best care for the puppies.

i guess i hope you will consider doing more research and asking lots of questions to find out the important things to look for.

one of the breeders that i spoke to when i was looking for my puppy told me (because she didn't have a puppy available to sell, and usually you have to be on a wait list to get a puppy from her as she does not frequently have litters) this piece of advice:

"go look at the house where the puppy lives, visit the puppy's mom and dad. talk to the breeder and ask LOTS of questions, and finally let your gut instinct tell you if you think this is a good idea. if you sense that something is wrong, probably is, walk away and never go back."

and i think your job now is to do research to find out what to look for in a good breeder and write down a list of questions that you should be asking about.

good luck to you!
