My boys were 7, 9 and 12 when we first had our yorkies. They have done very well with them. We just have to remind them no rough play in the house even though they never were allowed to before dogs. I would agree that yorkies seem to love being around kids as much as kids love them. Mine will cry, jump all excited each day as my youngest 2 come home from school. They go completely nuts so happy to see them. As long as kids know to respect the dog due to their size, it should be such a great experience for them.
