are you guys my fiance's rights advocates? how much is he paying you guys?

i am just kidding. i am glad to hear you guys bring up these points. it is true. it is important for one's health to be able to breath in one's own home...

i guess i never tried to personalize his pain before since he was supportive of me getting a cat. (not two though! )

i guess i would not be too thrilled about kitties either if i had to choose between air or cute fluff balls...cute fluff balls quickly becomes not-so-cute when i am deprived of oxygen...
I absolutely love kitties too and had a couple of them when my son was a baby. He was always sick, and I never knew why.. 15 years later I had a referral to have him get allergy tested. It was discovered that he has severe allergies especially to cats I felt soooo guilty about exposing my child to that, even though I never once thought or knew that was making him ill. I did not even have cats when the truth finally came out.
Now he has to take allergy shots once a week.... I still feel so badly
If your finance is only mildly affected and wants to have a cat too, then I would still keep trying ! a cat is a great compainion !
the rescue lady did screw you over, and I would be quite pissed off it it was me! She did not need to do that, but did not care that it would cause you great heartache in the end. I hate people who are dishonest ! You had every right to question her motivations , and ethics. Shame of her! I hope this does not discourage you from looking , and you will find the perfect kitty to bring home!
Best wishes to you, and I am sorry that that "rescue" did not work out, and for her to play mind games with you! That is totally wrong !
