First you need to know what kind of stones he had. Were they struvite or oxalate? He needs to have lots of fresh water and some vets recommend wet food as this contains more water. If they are struvite stones they can be somewhat controlled with a special diet. Oxalate stones are more serious and can return again. Do research and talk to your vet to educate yourself. You may need to use one of the vet special diets like hills or science diet or make his food yourself which is much trickier. Good luck
