Thank you for sharing your experience with the high protein foods. Our adult maltipoo doesn't need to gain any weight...she is 7.5 lbs and the vet said that is the perfect weight for her. Our yorkie pups are gaining nicely on the Royal Canin, but are having trouble with itching.
I just don't know what to try for our pups. We just started introducing the Innova EVO to our maltipoo, changing it slowly. I've already noticed a difference in her poo...it's much larger than it was. She was on Pedigree (I now know it's not a good choice, but we didn't know better when we first got her.
). I noticed the protein content in it is very low compared to the Innova or Nature's Variety.
I don't think the store we went to carried Merrick's before grain. I'll have to check into that.
