Bladder Stones Hi. Some of you may have read some of my other posts about my adopting a 6 year old yorkie on Dec 30th whose owners surrendered him back to the breeder. He had not been neutered and was diagnoised with an enlarged protstate. We took him to the vet yesterday for his pre-op workup because we were getting him a dental and neutered. To our surprise the vet x-rayed him and found 4 bladder stones. She suggested we surgically remove them before it became an emergency. So Cody was operated on last night. We were told this am that he is doing fine and we can take him home probably Saturday. Have any of you dealt with this? The vet thinks the previous owners fed him table food because of his teeth and stones. Can you recommend a good food for him since I know the vet will suggest Science Diet? I'm sorry for the long post but have been frantic since last night. Is there a good chance he won't have this problem again? Any words of advice/encouragement will be most welcomed. Thx |
