Toby'sMama - thanks so much for posting that.

Very informative.
I'm about to die of sleep deprevation (

) so I just want to make one last thought, then I'll shut up.
I don't think that he had any bad intentions. In fact, I believe his intentions were very good. The only things that bothered me were that they were spoken in present tense (and yes, while these things still exist in some peoples' minds and hearts, it isn't the norm. Most people - in general - do not expect blacks to sit at the back of the bus, etc) and that they were racially dividing. Everyone is discriminated against for one reason or another. Yes, their lives may be harder sometimes. Everyone is struggling with something. But I just don't think their lives should be harder. The only way to make it so, is to stop dividing the races, period. and I can't help but believe that statements like that - the way that it was made - divide the races. That's all I'm getting at. It's not that I don't think it's important, it's not that I don't acknowledge that there are still racists. It's that I *desperately* want those things to end, and the ONLY way to do that is to look at someone's face and not have the first thing you see be the color of their skin.
