I remember when I was waiting to bring Daisy home. I was excited and nervous all at the same time. All I did was read anything and everything I could find on Yorkies. Believe me it helped!!! I asked a million and one questions and got wonderful responses. YT is an amazing site and the people are very helpful. In saying that I feed Daisy Natural Balance, I think its good but im looking around for something else. She will not eat the dry food unless I mix the soft with it. She's a bit spoiled lol
As far as the potty training, I got very lucky. It seemed like she picked it up as soon as we got her home. Yes she had a few accidents (but that’s expected) she is almost 4 months now and we haven’t had any accidents for quite some time. I paper trained her. We don’t take her outside at all right now, it’s too cold! I got her when she was 8 weeks old. A bit young but she is doing wonderful!!! This is my first puppy so im new at all of this, but I couldn’t imagine my life without her!! A lot of people say to keep your Yorkies confined to one place in the house until he or she is trained. I didn’t do that. Daisy has been running around the house since day one. You do have to baby proof your home, but its worth it! She does have a play pen we keep her in when no ones home. I would highly recommend that. I also have a crate I would use when she was bad, but that’s in the basement now I’ve only used it a few times and honestly I don’t think you will need one unless you plan on crate training. I could go on and on about Yorkies, I absolutely love my pup. But if you ever need to talk to a first time yorkie owner ill help as much as I can. There are plenty of us here on YT!! Oh BTW good choice on getting your pup on Friday the first few days they shouldn’t be alone!
