I don't think it's my place to dictate what company can hire him and which can't. As far as not wanting your children (theoretically speaking) to look up to someone like that...shouldn't that be the parent's job to instill those values in their child and teach them right from wrong? It's not the NFL's responsibility to instill values on the youth of America, that is something that comes from parenting.

You wouldn't be allowed because of the type of work you do. I personally don't think that he "got special treatment" because of who he is. He got a sentence a heck of a lot stricter that any average Joe would have gotten. People are convicted of the same crime frequently and get community service and a fine IF that even. Do I think the penalties for animal cruelty should be more harsh? You bet I do, for both the suffering the animals are subjected to AND because I think it masks a deeper, dangerous psychological issue. But they aren't as strict as they should be and per our justice system, he will have served his time and at that point should be free to re-enter the work force, whatever that may be. I'm confused by how he has been rewarded over all of this? He got and is getting what he deserves, fines, jail time, loss of property, a tarnished reputation, fired from his job and loss of his income from endorsements. Which is exactly what he deserves. If you feel that strongly about it, boycott the team that signs him, or boycott the NFL altogether.
You're right that it is the parents responsibility to instill values in their children. But, I don't think it's a good representation of the way we all work as a whole, when you see people who make ridiculous amounts of money, and are in the publics eye, then one day they blatantly break the law (I was surprised myself, at the sentence he actually got. I thought he would pay a fine and be done with it) then return back to the lifestyle they had before after everything is said and done, I don't think that is right.
I know he served his time, but I still think it would be rewarding him in a way by allowing him to go right back into the NFL. I just think things like that shouldn't be taken as lightly as they are. Personally I have no interest in football, I think it is boring, so I don't watch it either way. But I am not just looking at it as one person in one career field, he isn't the first celeb to do something apalling, I think when any of them do something that disgusting they should lose their "on top of the world" social status.
