You need to be tough. How old is he? You can try hand feeding him some regular food, and I would quit the begging bacon strips entirely. Dogs will learn to hold out for better/more fattening food. You can also try sprinkling a little grated Parmesan cheese on his regular food. Joey loves green beans the frozen kind, not canned, and they make a great snack. Try to make the snacks you give him healthier, because it doesn't matter how healthy the food is, if he's filling up with treats. Usually you don't have to be any tougher than one or two days, but if he's less than 4 pounds, you have to be careful he doesn't develop hypoglycemia.
