All I can say, is we're dealing with our 3 1/2 year old golden retriever having a bad case of hip dysplasia. When they're like that that young, it's from breeding 2 parents with the same problem, so most likely your breeders dogs(parents of the puppy) had it. We didn't have the $7500 laying around for the surgeries for the golden, so decided to put her on a pain pill the rest of her life, and then she was on a pill also (rimadyl)for arthritis(I was having to pay $280 every 3-4 mos for that) so took her off and put her on a glucosmin pill I put her on in place of the rimadyl from petsmart . She's actually doing really well now, (she also went through 8 weeks of glucosamin shots |
