Spaying is not a bad thing, there are definite benefits. However, I think the important thing is to determine WHEN is the best time for your individual puppy, as determined by: her age, her weight, her overall health, etc. Do not be pressured by your vet, just because they say "6 months old is our policy" or whatever. Vets should know that you cannot make a blanket policy on living creatures! Every puppy is different. Please do not rush, and wait until your baby is over 3 lbs if possible, 4lbs even. This is something you cannot do over if something goes wrong ----this I know.
