I bath my yorkies about once a week and it doesn't have an affect on their skin, though I'm sure all yorkies are different.

One of mine has a skin issue and the vet just gave us antibotics and a special shampoo to use (we have to up the bathing to twice a week with it). So maybe have a vet check his skin out to see if there is a deeper issue.
