My brother is an aerospace engineer and designing planes was his senior project so he knows planes back and forth. Birds can take a plane down, but it's really rare, more like a freak accident and the scenario has to be so specific in order for a plane to go down.
I hope every person got out ok and no pets were lost in that horrible accident.
