Awww, how incredibly sad. I mean, really really sad. You think you're doing something good and then something like that happens. She probably has a really good heart but is just so hurt and doesn't know how to cope with it so she's rude and impatient (yikes...NOT a good trait for a nurse, and that's coming from a nurse

). But maybe a lot of stuff in her life.....it's so sad about the dog though, I'm sure she blames herself for it.
On the other hand, it's kind of a good reminder that when you take any animal into your life, you have to decide what your priorities are....I (and I know most people here) would love to adopt almost every abandoned pet I see, but I have to stop and remember that the dogs I have are the ones I need to honor my commitment to......they need lots of love and attention and it's just not fair to bring anything else into our home that might compromise their health or security. I understand that sometimes it's just a really unfortunate occurance....I feel really bad for your classmate.
